PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO’s):

At the department undergraduate students seeking a Diploma degree from the Department of Civil Engineering are expected to have attained the following program educational objectives:

  1. Identify, formulate, review, research and analyze complex Civil Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions and to design structures that meets specific needs with consideration of Indian Standards
  2. Usage of Technology and latest trends in Civil Engineering methods to investigate complex solutions in the industry.
  3. Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools related to Structures and Environment for complex Civil Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  4. Ability to perform the engineering solutions based on the environment leading to sustainable development.
  5. An ability to present themselves individually or in team by involving students to participate in multidisciplinary activities.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these in the field, as a member and leader in a team, to monitor and manage Civil Engineering projects.
  7. Recognize the need for, and engage in lifelong learning of new technology in Civil Engineering and constant up gradation of new technology and in advance materials which will enhance their growth.

Program Outcomes (POs):

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering.
  2. Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  3. Ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
  4. Ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  5. Ability to identify , formulates, and solve engineering problems
  6. Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively.
  8. Broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  9. Recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
  10. Knowledge of contemporary issues.
  11. Ability to utilize experimental, statistical and computational methods and tools necessary for engineering practice.
  12. Ability to create and or use Computer Science and Engineering related software tools, to get employment and succeed in higher studies.
