DME - Mechanical Engineering

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO’s):

  • PEO1:Engineering Knowledge: Acquire knowledge in the discipline of mechanical engineering, apply fundamentals of mathematics, engineering and sciences and apply technologies to solve complex problems in inter and cross disciplinary areas.
  • PEO2:Problem Analysis: Acquire an ability to identify, formulate and solve Mechanical engineering problems.
  • PEO3:Design/ Development of Solutions: Design mechanical systems, components, or processes to meet their performance needs from considerations of public health and safety as well as cultural, societal, and environmental issues.
  • PEO4:Conduct Investigations:Ability to understand and solve complex mechanical engineering problems using research-based knowledge and research methods including analysis, interpretation of data and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PEO5:Modern Tool Usage:Identify, formulate and solve mechanical engineering problems using modern design and manufacturing approaches and computational and software tools.
  • PEO6:The Engineer and Society:Acquire knowledge of professional and ethical responsibilities and develop an understanding of impact of mechanical engineering solutions on the society.

Program Outcomes (POs):

At the end of the programme the students will have

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering Principles to solve the problems in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Ability to understand the design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  3. Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
  4. Ability to design a system, component or process to meet the desired goals of electrical considering social environmental ethical and social aspects.
  5. Ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
  6. Ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.
  7. Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
