- Approve plans and review programme implementation
- Ensure institutional support for NSS initiatives
2. Programme Officer (Member Secretary)
- Prepare and submit activity proposals to the committee
- Organize and implement NSS programmes
- Maintain records, reports, and documentation
- Coordinate meetings and communicate decisions
3. Staff Members (Social Work Background)
- Assist in planning and execution of NSS activities
- Guide students in community service programmes
- Support awareness and outreach initiatives
4. Development Department Representative
- Provide inputs on government/community development schemes
- Facilitate collaboration with external agencies
5. Village/Slum/Welfare Agency Representative
- Identify local community needs
- Support implementation of field-level activities
- Act as a link between institution and community
6. NSS Student Leaders
- Coordinate student volunteers
- Actively participate in all NSS programmes
- Assist in organizing camps, drives, and awareness activities
Functions of the Committee
- Evaluate NSS programme performance regularly
- Suggest suitable community-based activities
- Encourage participation from all stakeholders
- Ensure effective utilization of resources
Limitations
- The Committee shall consider proposals submitted by the Programme Officer as per NSS guidelines
- No administrative or financial changes shall be made in the approved pattern of expenditure
- Activities must be selected based on NSS Manual or State-level guidelines
- The Committee is free to choose programmes suitable to local community needs
General Instructions
- All members are requested to attend meetings regularly
- Active participation and cooperation is expected from all members
- Minutes of the meeting will be recorded and circulated
